While I was drinking my limoncello-tonic mix and surfing on the Behance, I stopped on a profile and just asked to my friend that “Why I am finding these artworks quite haunting but also extremely beautiful?” She answered “I found them only beautiful!” and she was totally right!

I am definitely mentioning about the works of Evelyn Bencicova. She is a visual artist from Bratislava, Slovakia. And, I should admit that after spending some time by thinking on her works I found out why I felt like that at first glance towards her works. Because, for me, Bencicova’s artwork aesthetically merges ambivalance parts of life together, similar to her hometown Bratislava! In Bratislava, it is possible to see see really well designed blue church (aesthetic part) in front of an cold socialist-era hospital (haunting part). Therefore, I felt like I caught Bratislava‚Äôs urban attitude on her Works.

“Asymptote” might be an example for above-mentioned concept. For instance, it contains: a line of people with the same mask and a grandma with party hat! However, this ambivalancy breaks stereotypes that we have.
Long story short we liked her artworks really much and will share a collection of her job.

However, if you would like to see more from Bencicova, you can check her Behance profile!
